Still, ever so often something happens that brings people together. Proving there's always a mutual feeling that brings out the humanity in us all. Building things and tragedy seems to be some of the few links to our union. Unfortunately, What got to the world on May 30th, 2016 was a Gorilla being taken down by the care takers of a Cincinnati Zoo. Which was a desperate attempt to save a 4 year old child from the animals grasp after inexplicably falling into the wild area.
This decision didn't bold over well with people who felt as if that call was a little extreme. Which is supported by the idea that viewers felt the footage clearly showed the Gorilla was simply protecting the child. Especially after helping the boy up to his feet at one point during the incident. Creating a massive outcry over the zoo's decision making including the parent of the child.
The ultimate trade off being a lost life to avoid taking a chance of something going wrong if tranquilizer's failed to be effective. Which is understandable when we consider the life of a child being at stake. But incompetent if the alternatives reliance is as questionable as the things that are supposed to keep us and the animals safe from one another.
So maybe the world was right to be mad about this because not only did that Gorilla show more humanity then we can say for some people. But he was also apart of the reason why that child is still alive today.
The Gorilla's name was Harambe and his breed is currently endangered. So if you are one of the people who feel strongly about this there is a petition at Change.org to help avoid future incidents.
