So after 5 years of bickering for this epic show down finally the legendary boxers have faced off. Some believe the match up was over hyped seeing how fans preferred this to take place in their prime. What the world got in the end was that exact reality and some say it could have killed the sport of boxing. It’s true that this event was the biggest that business ever had and it did go all 12 rounds. But the fight over all was considered too dull for the price tag that was demanded.
Fans were in outrage over this turn out especially when Mayweather remained undefeated as a result. The bout managed to raise over 300 million from PPV sales alone and will likely never see that turn out again. Manny blamed the fight results on a shoulder injury he sustained while acting surprised that Floyd did more running then brawling. Clearly a fight that has him trending as a boxer who likes to give out hugs now. One thing is for certain and that’s the fact that if there was a rematch no one would care enough to give it another glimpse. Another thing to consider is whether or not fans would even be interested in seeing Floyd having his last match on contract.
Because simply put the cash prize has already been settled and he just may gracefully bow out from a sport that gives him heat for his ways.
- The sport of boxing’s future will most likely end up sending it back into the dark ages due to these sort of implications
- Manny will face retirement now that he has earned his 6th loss and will probably be over looked if he continue fighting now that he has peeked
So where does that leave this once prominent sport with its big names being short listed?
Another rebuilding process most likely but whats left are viral memes of Floyd, Jay Z and Denzel Washington for some odd reason.
