But complications emerged with the software of the iphone and consumers didn’t appreciate how fragile the hardware was. Big issues that allowed the opportunity of apple impressing society once more to pass and potentially leading to a questionable future. Companies that have gone under in certain areas have learned to survive in other markets like IBM. So maybe taking a step back and evaluating what area the company can tackle other than the phone market could be a good thing. It’s not unheard of and allows the potential to at least evade any further losses. Avairy was once a website that made a little buzz for the features it meant to provide artists and creators.
Sadly, they couldn’t mark their stamp online and was forced to improvise to see where their true strengths lied. So they decided to reduce their massive site to ashes and jump into the application market where they now thrive as a photo editing feature for smart phones. Which was just a small section of the many selections they had on their previous site. This is clearly what it takes to at least salvage a company name in this day and age, so that way complications that drove big company names like HMV under can be avoided. Who knows if apple has something up their sleeves but then the 90’s Sega business format comes to mind when the company managed to break the market with something awesome, The Dreamcast.
It was groundbreaking and so much that its elements are rumored to be used with a modern day gaming console I will not mention. But sadly consumers who were once fans of Sega were disappointed by previous hardware that didn’t live up to its potential and never took a chance on the console. It didn’t even matter how good it was which could be backed up by the fact that games are still being made for that gaming system today. Yet, gamers at the time would not budge and held their ground leaving the company with no choice but to discontinue the device and face the risk of bankruptcy.
As bad as that was, amazingly even they managed to keep the name alive by tackling the software market where they decided to focus on their strongest points. And it worked!
So can apple do the same someday, time will only tell.
