I bring this up because after the success of this film it sparked a trend that continued with Japanese Horror movies years after this release. Which I felt was a bit uncreative at the time because all the ghosts of a person would be like the ones from Ju-On. Pretty much a light blue painted person with black mascara that would even act in the same manner. At first I figured they would use this style until it became lack luster but years later I found out the concept was still being used. This eventually led to me wondering why and after some digging, I had come to find out ghosts from their neck of the woods were really being witnessed in this manner.
What made it worse is that while I was looking around I discovered what I believed to be one of the worst movie rip offs of this genre ended up being the most appealing. It was based on cell phone ghosts that was planned to be the next wave of this niche. Already you can understand why I thought this idea was the lamest choice. Especially when one considers the marketing ploys to make cell phones popular at the time. However, to my surprise it is actually another concept based on real life experiences where someone would receive a message from those who have passed on.
There have been stories overseas and even in the states involving this phenomena. One of the most recent involving a man receiving calls and text messages a day after some they knew had passed away. Of course the spooky part was him not knowing while it was happening until sometime later. I wish could continue in detail but I kind of abandoned this area of the creepy tales I explore. I’d still like to use my phone in peace but I’m sure those who are interested shouldn't have a problem finding more details about the phone ghosts online. I know the whole Ju-On ghost thing can be found on video which you would think would be shown just as some random post online.
But I actually came across this on some game show they have over in Japan where they show footage of a variety of incidents. Yeah, I guess it’s just that much of a normal thing for the people over there.
