I waited impatiently all summer to get to season 9 hoping there would be an epic beginning. Anticipation was running high in the world and now I could speak to more people about it without being looked at strangely. But sadly that day would never come because for the first time ever after 8 seasons, I was left disappointed by the turn out. Moments that nearly made me slam my favorite coffee cup into the ground. Lucky the coffee mug survived even though that hour of my life didn't make it. Probably, because I felt that the shows source material was starting to be recycled. Something that may have gone unnoticed before but made so painfully obvious at this point.
Yeah, no against the grain here in terms of what should have been over the top but acceptable story telling. Which history shows has been the height of some good source material.
So that was a major miss that led to what should have been a redeeming season 11 if it hadn't been for the horrible idea for the main antagonist. Now quality wise, the show was enhanced with good acting and better scenery but now character development was being jeopardized. With some favorable characters becoming shells of what they used to be and the main protagonists seeming more bored and tiered then personally invested. Something that for the first time is the revelation of what happens when a show continues passed its own shelf life.
A moment that should have stood the test of time if you watched the whole show.
If you ask me, I would have wrote him being taken as a vessel again and nearly bringing earth to its knees until seeing his mother alive at the end of the season for the first time. Because that would have been well in his character considering how dark he gets when he's alone. Not to mention the shock of seeing Dean and his mother Mary Winchester alive would have made for an epic season finale. “To be continued, what will Evil Sammy do next” (Says The Deep Voice Movie Guy)
All the while introducing new outside characters that make the gritty world of Supernatural look more polished then ever.
And I don't think watching the glory days of Smallville lately has helped. So I guess all in all, if some one suggests this show to you. Check out Supernatural seasons 1 - 8 cause you'll love them. But get ready for a cluster**** that I'm not sure will get any better. But hey, there's always the end of season 12 and 13 says Antonio Westley who just keeps endlessly trying to kick that ball....
(I'm Trapped, Save Me)
But I'll give the cast of Supernatural some credit they do it for the fans even though they don't do it well anymore, Hire me CW!
