Now I have always said that if by some miracle they transfer the home platform over the next gen console then it would be reason enough for me to upgrade. However, that wasn’t the case and I kind of felt left out to dry. Because I wasn’t willing to hawk out money for a gaming system that didn’t have lead titles other than Infamous. It be different if they were still making Crash Bandicoot but that major character still hasn’t shown his face since the PS2. Not to mention the big let downs gamers have been experiencing with the latest games.
It’s certainly something different to try and sometimes going back to old ideas can be a good thing. Like the way Xbox Move was originally an old PS2 concept called Playstation EYE. I’m not saying it was a success but it still could be a cool concept if handled right. What new innovative things could be added to Atom Universe is beyond me. But if I had a list of choices it would be:
A) Easier mic access and option for video chat
B) Light speed loading times between stages
C) Option to share content from there to social media
Those little additions alone could make that platform popular so long as there are entertaining things to do. Before the concept of communicating with new people on there was daunting but it would open up the world more if they bridged the gap between social media and this idea. My hopes is that the Playstation Home concept now known as Atom Universe is not a missed opportunity. Because I would be willing to buy that hardware if only for the idea that it came with that digital world I can easily jump into from day one.
I don’t know I guess it just gives me that same feeling one had when the original NES came with Mario Bros.
