There’s no denying the science moguls of the world may be bringing us a little closer to those answers every day. But for some reason the basis of living forever just fails to appeal to me. I mean just think about it for a moment and ask yourself what are the pros and cons of exceeding a lifetime. The limits of our own mortality has haunted mankind from the dawn of time. But can anyone really handle living beyond the years we are granted in this life?
You’d figure the weary nature of some of the immortal characters written throughout entertainment would have raised some eye brows. So to ignore such a reality would be foolish mainly because there are many things that could go wrong like:
B ) Being trapped somewhere for infinite years after the world has ended - Until maybe some meteor hits the planet and happens to set us free.
C ) The reality of body decay and being forced to replace organs that fail or face the idea of living like a Zombie otherwise.
( Time Does Age Everything )
These are just a few things to dwell on considering these fears exist even with in our normal life span. So yeah, the fruits of this luxury may have an exhilarating taste, at first. But a horrible kick back most would consider too much of a trade off. Which should be enough to make people wonder whether or not we should just appreciate the time we are given. Learning to let go while accepting that what makes life special is the fact that nothing is forever. Because truthfully, it seems like only someone with unlimited ambition who can't get enough of the little things in life could thrive in this way.
But then again, we all blossom at our own pace.
Where do you stand on Immortality and if you were offered this chance, would you take it?
